Wellness in the Mayas’ land
Blue ocean, white beaches, exotic atmosphere and pure nature- what sounds like paradise on earth can be enjoyed in the Guesthouse “Healing House” in Mexico. This Oasis of Senses is located 15 min away from the picturesque village Tulum, in the south of Cancun on Yucatan peninsula- the ideal place to find to yourself in the unique nature. Not only the lagoon’s beach but also the jungle nearby is worth being explored!
„Healing House“offers space for ten guests with your own cook taking care of your catering. Tulum is only a 15 minutes’ drive away and can easily be reached by bus or car. The small town provides countless shopping and entertainment opportunities, and one of the most beautiful beaches of the world.
But the one thing that makes “Healing House” a real oasis are Tatjana Wegner’s tailor-made wellness-programmes, which can be designed as follows:
Morning: 9:00hrs to 10:00hrs Good-morning-Yoga
10:00hrs to 12:00hrs dance classes (BollyDance or traditional Maya dances)
Noon: Spare time, beach trips or long, relaxing walks
Afternoon: 5:00hrs to 7:00hrs dance classes (BollyDance or traditional Maya dances)
Evening: Trip to Tulum or Playa del Carmen with beach parties, salsa clubs or dance shows
By prior agreement, bicycle tours, trips to Cancun, massages, salsa classes or visits at an traditional Native Indian sweat-hut (texmaxkal) can also be arranged.
Apart from the white beach and palm trees, one of Mexico’s famous cultural relics can be admired at the lagoon. The Tulum Ruins are the only Maya ruins located on the beach. The pyramid is built on a 12-meter high rock- from the top, an amazing view on the lagoon is reveals itself to the visitors. With Cenotes Gran Cenote, Dos Ojos and Escondido, sporty visitors will find natural groundwater basins with a subterranean cave system and a river. Snorkelling, swimming and cave diving is possible on-site. Genuine, untouched nature can be explored, you can go on a boat trip in the mangrove swamps and domestic animals can be admired at the nearby bio-reserve Siaan Ka’an that covers an area of 530 thousand hectares and stretches out 100 kilometres along the coast side. In the language of the Mayas, the reserve’s name has the beautiful meaning “where heaven was born”. That name certainly guarantees for an incredible experience.
For those, who like to combine culture and sports, something very special is waiting: After an one hour drive you reach Coba, a large-scale archaeological place of discovery of Mayan culture. Apart from an antique playing field, you can explore and admire some of the ancient temple pyramids- with the highest being 42 metres. In case you decide to rent a bike, local guides can take you to far away relics. At the entrance, you’ll find the crocodile lake which can be explored with jetskis together with an experienced guide. For cooling down, you’ll find two water basins on-site that invite you to swimming and splashing around. Land and people, especially Maya traditions, can be experienced in the small town Valladolid. Some of the inhabitants still wear their traditional Maya clothing and offer the visitors typical arts and craft. That picturesque place with the big town square and the Spanish church San Gervasio gently invites to have an extensive walk around or stop by for a typical Mexican snack.
All this can also be found in one place: at Xcaret theme park, located between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. Apart from different water sports, animal observation, swimming with dolphins or dolphin shows, orchid collections and vivid insights in the Maya culture, varying exhibitions and stunning stage performances are available for the visitors until late at night. Playa del Carmen stands for the full portion of recreation programme from street theatre to bohemian lifestyle and dance locations to fancy beach clubs- whatever your heart desires! Here visitors can enjoy a wonderful combination of city life and relaxation.
