Welcome to our website for current trends: Bollywood Dance. Bollywood (Bombay + Hollywood) is the major part of the highly productive Indian film industry, with more than 800 productions every year. The splendidly fitted, highly emotional films enchant an audience of millions, and now also in Germany and many European countries.
A special characteristic of Bollywood are costly song and dance scenes with wonderful costumes and lively music - often with dozens of dancers. This positive-minded dancestyle is a mix of Indian temple dance, Jazz / Modern Dance, oriental dance, Hip Hop and Bhangra - a music style that goes straight into the blood. Therefore, Tatjana Wegner developed the concept BollyDance.
She is a professionally trained ballet dancer and teacher. She started dancing at the age of four and since she was 16 she has had countless engagements in performance, musical and show productions both hoe and abroad. Trained in traditional Indian dances, inspired by numerous journeys to India and strongly influenced by Bollywood films, Tatjana Wegner developed her concept for the BollyDance courses.
She was the first person who officially brought this trend to Germany. Therefore, she developed various training programs and founded the first professional "BollyDance Company” in Europe. Meanwhile several evening-filling show programs were created and a close cooperation with the Indian Bollywood film industry has emerged. Thus, she is the most established and most successful choreographer for this booming trend.
Under the menu "Courses in Hamburg" all the courses covered by Tatjana Wegner - from ballet to yoga workout and "BollyDance" are listed. More information as well application forms can also be found there. The Workshop & Specials and the Training sites are constantly updated. They usually take place on weekends all over Germany. Dance studios that are interested in offering these workshops in their premises can contact us any time. Of course, additional information on Bollywood, India, religion and meaning will be provided bit by bit.
Bollywood makes happy - we look forward to hearing from you! Namaste
